Social entrepreneurship business idea workshop

The aim of this activity is to engage learners in brainstorming and developing social entrepreneurship
business ideas. Learners will work collaboratively to identify social issues, propose innovative solutions, and
assess the potential impact and feasibility of their ideas.
In this activity the learners will have to generate social entrepreneurship business ideas within the
groups. They will recognise the importance of addressing social issues in a creative and
sustainable way. To do that, trainers and/or facilitators must cover the following steps:
Step 1
Explain the purpose of the activity first. You may conduct an icebreaker activity to foster group
cohesion and creativity. For example, ask participants to share a social issue they feel passionate
about.
Step 2
Divide participants into two groups of 8 people. Provide both groups with sticky notes and
Implementation address the identified social issues. Encourage creativity and innovation during the
markers. Prompt groups to brainstorm potential social entrepreneurship business ideas that

Step 3
Each group selects a spokesperson to present their top three business ideas to the whole group.
Allow time for questions and feedback from other groups. After hearing all presentations, groups
reconvene to refine and improve their business ideas based on feedback received. Encourage
groups to consider feasibility, scalability, and potential impact during this stage.
Step 4
Groups prepare a brief presentation (2-3 minutes) to pitch their refined business idea to the
entire group. Each group presents their refined business idea, highlighting its social impact,
feasibility, and unique value proposition. Encourage active listening and constructive feedback
from the audience.
Step 5
Facilitate a discussion on the challenges and opportunities encountered during the idea
generation process. Encourage learners to reflect on the importance of creativity, collaboration,
and ethical considerations in social entrepreneurship.
