To achieve that a consortium of eight European countries (Spain, Portugal, Poland, Austria, Turkey,
Italy, Greece, and Cyprus) developed a learning path comprising forefront competences and
learning outcomes that social entrepreneurs need to thrive in the social economy. The
INNO4CHANGE learning path comprises booklets for social entrepreneurs’ learners developed for
self-directed learning and a set of didactic tutorials to support training facilitation, on the
covered topics, addressed at VET providers and professionals.

Competence areas
The INNO4CHANGE learning path competence areas determine the set of competences that future social
entrepreneurs need to develop to be able to pursue successful and sustainable careers in the social
economy sector, based on the launching of innovative new ideas and solutions which are complementary
to the more traditional approaches to societal and/or environmental challenges and needs.
The definition of the INNO4CHANGE training modules results from a consultation conducted with different
specialists in the eight countries of the project consortium, that aimed at validating the competence areas
below for future social entrepreneurs. The INNO4CHANHE learning path is built in a total of eight learning
modules distributed into three competence areas:

Module 1: Types of social innovation businesses and the social innovation entrepreneur profile
Module 2: Key competences of social innovation entrepreneurs
Essentials on innovation
Module 3: Innovation management and business ideation
Module 4: How to tackle social/environmental challenges through product/service innovation
Essentials on business development
Module 5: Product/service development and business plan
Module 6: Social business prototyping and testing techniques
Module 7: Marketing strategy adapted to the social economy
Module 8: Social innovation businesses monetising strategies and management
Learning outcomes
The INNO4CHANGE training modules are in line with the European Qualification Framework level 5 (EQF 5)
and the learning outcomes are described in terms of:
